Orange and Chocolate chips Shortbread Cookies

Orange flavor? – Ohh yes!
Slice and bake cookies that can sit in your freezer and bake whenever you want! It pairs perfectly with an afternoon tea or coffee.
Ingredients

Butter: 
1 1/2 sticks = 170 grams

Granulated White Sugar: 
1/2 cups = 100 grams

Orange zest: 
5 teaspoon

Vanilla Extract: 
1/2 teaspoon

Flour: 
1 3/4 cups = 224 grams

Salt: 
a pinch

Chocolate Chips: 
1/4 cup = 45 grams
Directions
Step by step:
- Combine flour and salt in a bowl.
- Place sugar in another bowl, then gather orange zest and add in.
!! To obtain the most flavor from the orange zest you must grind it with the sugar until it’s moist and fragrant. The result is a light, crispy cookie with a smooth, citrus finish. - Mix. Continue to mash until the sugar is moist.
- Add butter and vanilla. Mix continuously.
- Add everything together while folding in mini chocolate chips.
- Form a dough, put in the fridge and chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 175 C degrees.
- Cut the dough into slices, or cut with a form you want, then put the cookies on a sheet pan and chill for another 10 minutes in the freezer. ~ This tip reduces spreading while baking.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the bottom of cookies is golden brown.
- Let them cool and serve.
