Rosemary Parmesan and Ham Scone

Take a moment to stop and enjoy life before “the day” begins … Get your scones and your mug of tea.

Just perfect combo!

Ingredients

  • Flour: 

    2 1/2 cups = 320 grams

  • Salt: 

    1/2 teaspoon

  • Baking Powder: 

    1 tablespoon

  • Baking Soda: 

    1/2 teaspoon

  • Brown Sugar: 

    1/3 cup = 67 grams

  • Butter: 

    1/2 cup = 113 grams

  • Egg: 

    1

  • Milk: 

    3/4 cup = 180 ml + 2 tablespoon

  • Parmesan cheese: 

    1 cup = 125 grams

  • Ham: 

    3/4 cup = 115 g

  • Cheese: 

    1/4 cup = 25 grams

Directions

Here we go again, baking together :

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. In a large bowl add the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and brown sugar.
  3. Cut the butter into small cubes then quickly work it into the mixture until it resembles a coarse meal.
  4. In a small bowl whisk beat together the egg and milk.
  5. Mix together the liquid mixture with the dry one until a dough has formed.
  6. Add in the Parmesan cheese, ham, and rosemary and gently fold them into the dough with a spatula.
  7. Pour the dough out onto a clean, floured work surface and shape the dough into a circle. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and carefully transfer to the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden brown.
  9. Let them cool a little bit, but don’t wait too much, ‘cuz it’s the best when it’s still warm.
  10. Sprinkle extra ham and cheese on top of each scone before baking.

Bon Appetit! Do not forget the salted butter!
